Hardye's Helpers

Inspiring young people to spread comfort, warmth, and kindness—one blanket at a time. For kids ages 11-17.

Named in memory of Hardye Moel, Hardye’s Helpers is a group of tweens and teens dedicated to helping Betsy’s Blankets spread warmth to kids who need it most. Hardye was one of Betsy’s closest friends and was a source of comfort to Betsy throughout her lifetime. She represented what a true friend is - someone who is always there for you, no matter what. The start of this young volunteer group is meant to remind kids to be there for others when they need help.

Ways to Get Involved

Helpers can complete their service through a mix of hands-on and leadership opportunities:

  • 🧺 Pack comfort kits and sort donated blankets at volunteer days

  • 🏫 Organize a blanket or bedding drive at school, church, or in your neighborhood

  • ✂️Make no-sew tie blankets - create a blanket to donate to Betsy’s Blankets

  • 💬 Spread the word—recruit other volunteers or share Betsy’s Blankets’ mission on social media

  • 💌 Create personal touches like handwritten notes to include in comfort packs

  • 💖 Participate in local distribution events with family or mentors

  • 💡 Lead a mini fundraising or awareness project (optional)
